Hands on experience on our alpaca farm here in Waldoboro, Maine

We feel strongly that every potential alpaca owner should have the opportunity to work with the animals before they make a purchase decision. We invite you to Maine to visit our alpaca farm when we have routine care to perform, i.e. giving shots, trimming nails, halter training, weighing. With some luck, you might be fortunate to witness a birth. By appointment visits allow you to gain some invaluable hands on experience working with alpacas. We also offer a Hands-On Alpaca Day. Please contact us to be added to our mailing list.

Multiple purchase discounts on alpacas and breeding fees.

Free boarding on our Alpaca Farm in Waldoboro, Maine for up to six months

We want you to feel comfortable and prepared to accept delivery of your new alpacas. If you need time to set up your alpcaca farm, we provide up to six months of boarding here in Maine at no charge and extended periods for a reasonable monthly fee.

Free gelding/pet quality alpaca with the purchase of each breeding female

Alpacas are happiest in a herd--they need to be with at least one other alpaca. We allow you to pick the gelding of your choice to go with each female. You will be happy to have some "public relations" animals to take to fairs as well as having companions for other groups of alpacas during times of separation, such as weaning, and off farm breeding. Geldings often become your largest fiber producers, as they are not spending their energy and nutrition producing babies and nursing.

Live Cria and Reproduction Guarantees

We will offer free breeding services to your female if the cria should not live beyond 7 days, assuming all reasonable measures were taken to protect the life of the cria during this period. All breeding stock purchased from our farm is guaranteed to be reproductively sound or the alpaca will be replace by one that is.

Free delivery to your alpaca farm for breeding stock within the continental U.S. from our Alpaca Farm in Waldoboro, Maine

OUR COMMITMENT:

Individual Attention From a Small Maine Alpaca Farm

As a smaller alpaca farm, we are committed to offering individual attention to our alpacas and our customers here and ourside of Maine. We are committed to raising our alpacas in a low-stress healthy environment. For example, when we feed our herd, we monitor how much each alpaca consumes on a daily basis. We handle and halter train each animal from the time they are crias until the time they go to their new home. We encourage new owners to visit our alpaca farm in Maine for hands on experience (Hands-on Day) and we offer site visits to new alpaca farms to offer suggestions on farm or barn layout. We are committed to making ourselves available as mentors and encourage our customers to always feel free to call with questions.

Our Breeding Program as a Small Maine Alpaca Farm

We are committed to producing high quality alpacas with excellent conformation and fiber. We have carefully selected diverse bloodlines from some of the nation's finest herdsires producing crias that are usually a "cut above" the dam. No alpaca is perfect, and we are committed to being straight forward about the areas where any of our animals could use an upgrade.

Model Maine Alpaca Farm

We purchased our 1840 farmhouse, 3-story red barn, with 22 acres with the goal of starting an alpaca farm here in Maine. Our outbuildings, paddocks, and fencing were carefully planned. Our hilltop location on the edge of historic Waldoboro Village provides an ideal Maine setting for raising alpacas. We are committed to maintaining a model Maine alpaca farm that provides a prospective breeder a glimpse of where they might hope to be in a few years.
