- Golden Fawn
- Katalyst (Legacy Gold)
Mimosa is the perfect yearling for a foundation female because of her Snowmass Genetics...all of her progeny will be related to bloodlines from the most highly respected alpaca breeding program in North America. Females like her are "double" producers since they also produce high value males as well as females. Mimosa has loads of curly fine fleece cover this female from head to toe. She is super smart and has a very engaging personality...always very alert and naturally inquisitive. "Bright eye" personality is how we describe her! Medium-boned and very nicely balanced proportions from every angle make her the nice package. Her dam Bubbles has a second place at the North American Show and has already produced one Champion (Clapton). Her first shearing gave a micron measuring 19.4 which is very good particularly considering the super low CV of 17.9. Just 0.9 % fibers over 30 micron which is about the best you ever see. This is just the second female cria on the ground for Katalyst our Legacy Gold grandson. Katalyst has the densest tightly bundled fleece we have ever seen. Mimosa then can boast of having one of the best bloodlines in the country in her pedigree. Mimosa's sister just got a 1st in Texas. At the New England Alpaca Classic Mimosa placed 4th in what Judge Polly Michaelis said was an excellent group of light fawn females. The Judge commented on her superior crimp and fleece organization and said she gave up just a bit in finenss over the females place ahead of her. Remember at a show like this only the top 20% of alpacas are shown. So if the worst of these show quality alpacas is in say the 80th percentile...a 4th place ribbon in the show ring puts your alpaca well into the 90th percentile in overall quality. That is what you need in your foundation females to do well as a breeder. Mimosa has been bred to Zodiac a handsome Gray out of Powerplay for her first cria in the summer of 2013. Mimosa's best showing was at the Southeast Fiber Aninmal Fair in North Carolina where her fleece got First Place for Fawn Two Year Old Females!!!
