Masimo

Masimo is a super fine pure white male without a single spot anywhere on his fleece. His pure white fleece is just as brilliant as can be and it seems to have an exceptional hand to it. Crimp and character developed very nicely as the fleece came in...so at shearing he had super tight crimp with high amplitude.

We recently showed Masimo at the New England Alpaca Classic Show and he handled the best of all our alpacas...very nicely squared up and balanced... tracking smooth and fluid on the lead. Judge Wade Gease place him 6th in a stong white class that included his brother Victor who got 2nd place in the same class. the Judge commented on the typey blockiness of his head his strong conformation with good bone, uprightness, balance and good broad chest. The judge said he gave up finess over the alpacas place ahead of him ---Go Figure ---Masimos micron results at 17.6 is better than Victor's at 18.2. At the AlpacaFest in Ohio Victor got second and Masimo got third right behind him in the same class.  Masimo's best showing was again right behind Victor --but this time good enough for White Reserve Color Champion at the Southeast Fiber Animal Fair in North Carolina 2012.

Bonnie and I find Masimo to be pleasingly proportioned with good strong bone and has a great head with very expressive eyes...we love the pure white long eye lashes. Nice broad chest and good stature now as a yearling. He is a Katalyst son so it will be interesting to see how he develops with the Legacy Gold blood lines. I would expect a very good shear weight on Masimo's fleece.
