- Medium Fawn
- Clapton (Reserve Champion)
Layla has some of the finest fleece we've seen on a female cria in a while...which is not a surprise as her sire Clapton had a micron of 17. September Update: Layla's micron test came in at 17.6!!!! Bonnie was right again about judging this super fine fleece!
Clapton's fleece loaded with abundant character won Reserve Champion at the Green Mountain Alpaca Fleece Show in Vermont. Layla is a compact female with correct proportions and good solid bone. We will definitely show her as we think she can do well in the show ring. Her fleece in quite dense with a nice long staple and terrific bundling due to a well developed character with lots of crimp. We love her short square face and her spunky attitude. What a nice hand or handle to her as you touch...very silky. It will make a superlative yarn.
Fineness is what some in the alpaca industry think it is all about --Layla is their girl. Layla is priced with a breeding to Katalyst who boast of Snowmass (Legacy Gold) genetics and has been producing super high end show-quality crias in the past two years. We would sell her without a breeding as an open maiden for less ///$8,000. Terms of the sale are one third down and the balance over one year.
We would board her for free for six months after the sale.
