Katalyst's dam was sired by Snowmass Legacy Gold - the only alpaca ever to win back to back Breed and Color Championships. Katalyst carries the highest valued genetic line in the industry with 4Pervian Legacy, Snowmass Legacy Gold's sire, being the first and only "Million Dollar Alpaca". Currently we have six females that are pregnant by Katalyst for sale. You too could possess these elite genetics for your breeding program.

What makes Katalyst special from Village Farm Alpaca's point of view is that you have a stunning fawn male with a very fine (19.3)and super dense fleece whose sire is jet black. Hilltop Dreamer's Advocate took the show ring by storm in 2004 winning three Black Color Championships at the largest most competitive shows in the country. Katalyst's sire Dreamer's Advocate was eventually retired from showing with 7 Black Color Championships.

So you also have a male in Katalyst who could have some very dark hidden color genes.

Katalyst burst onto the show scene in the fall of 2008 by taking a second in the Light Fawn Class at the Coastal Classic. In doing it, he beat both the male who won that class the year before... and the male who was first two years in a row at the Big E. Obviously this was a very competitive red ribbon for our boy Katalyst. Then at the 2008 Empire, while he finished third in a class of 15, he beat the male who was Reserve Champion in that class the year before. A month later, in Vermont at the Green Mountain Classic Katalyst finished third in a class of 14. Ironically Katalyst had already beaten, a month earlier, the beautiful male who was first in his class. Clearly over these three shows, Katalyst was competitive with the top fawn males who at that time were winning their classes and Color Championships.

The one thing that blows me away every time, I put my hands on Katalyst's fleece is how much resistance I get as I feel for density...it really is like pushing against a thick Berber carpet. And the fleece is very nicely organized in tight bundles.

High frequency and high amplitude crimp give Katalyst elite character in his fleece. This a beautiful male with perfect conformation and great temperament...and Snowmass genetics
