Amaretto

These photos were taken of Amaretto at eight months and she is absolutely thriving.  I'm not sure we have ever had such a stunning rich colored fleece on a cria as the deep chocolate colored fleece on this girl...close perhaps to what you would see on a  nice Chocolate Lab.  Terry really loves this little girl both because of the color and because of her spunkiness. Amaretto is a Katalyst (Legacy Gold) cria so she carries Snowmass Genetics from the sire's side.  Katalyst may have the densest fleece of any alpaca in Maine. 

 But what makes this girl very special is that she also has Snowmass Genetics from Airglow, her mother. "Glow" is exactly what a breeder hopes for when pairing a granddaughter of PPPeruvian Royal Fawn with a male like "White Heat" who carries Snowmass genetics from his mom and is one of the nicest Evander sons ever produced. Absolutely stunning golden fawn... "Glow" is very true to type carrying a fleece with exceptional density. Her fleece has super high frequency crimped at 12 waves per inch! Plus real nice amplitude to the crimp which makes it "elite style" and what is winning in the show ring today. She has correct conformation --and moves fluidly on her well balanced medium boned frame. Her sire's (White Heat) best showing was at the 2007 North American Show where he placed third in a full class --ahead of SuperNova's Orion Nebula who went on to be that show's White Color Champion the following year. He was clearly competitive with New England's best white males in the show ring at that time. "Glow's" grandfather Evander is one of New England's best known white herdsires.  Amaretto was born solid at 20 lbs and has very upright conformation. She is sure to show well with her bloodlines...offered at a "cria" price of $6,500 without a breeding....which would be two years away. Sold in a package with her mother for $12,500.
