About Village Farm Alpacas
Village Farm Alpacas is an 1840 hilltop farm that overlooks the historic shipbuilding village of Waldoboro, Maine.

We have been raising alpacas since 1999 and have seen our investment in our herd grow from four animals to 29. This has been an exciting project for us to undertake together, and adopting this richly rewarding lifestyle has been a good experience for us as a couple. We share a passion for this industry that has made it so very successful, and we teach a course, “How to Start an Alpaca Farm,” several times each year at the local adult education.
Our alpacas provide us with so many things—a way to build equity and income; a daily rhythm on the farm that centers us; and, of course, soft and luxurious fiber that Bonnie both spins and waves.
Originally from Bangor, Maine, Bonnie has had a career as a medical buyer, so she is very knowledgeable about fiber and fiber parts. Terry has worked in sales and marketing in Maine's aquaculture industry. He was the marketing chairperson for the New England Alpaca Owners and Breeders association and contributes articles about alpaca farming to periodicals.
